In this course you’ll be introduced to the key topics and information necessary to design, plan, build, maintain, and insure the elements of walkway management. The key elements include selecting materials, facility design and layout, foot traffic flow, cleaning processes, floor care tools, chemicals, audit programs, personal injury, and liability.

You will learn how to use a standards-based approach to measuring walkway safety using published standards to measure static coefficient of friction (SCOF) and dynamic coefficient of friction (DCOF) using the ANSI/NFSI set of standards (B101) and ANSI A137.1 Accu-test (DCOF). You will learn about the key ASTM standards related to walkways. The course will introduce you to both OSHA and ADA requirements related to walkways.
