Substratum works with NFSI, TCNA, and ASTM to advance the standards and practices related to walkway management. We believe in a standards-based approach to auditing facilities for Walkway Safety. Our network of ANSI Walkway Audit Certificate Holders uses Regan Scientific BOT-3000 and American Slip Meter 825A tribometers. We primarily use the ANSI B101.0, B101.1, and B101.3 standards as our basis for Walkway Auditing.
Comprehensive Facility Walkway Audit
A comprehensive Audit uses a standards-based approach to provide you with a 3rd party evaluation of the state of your walkways. A Qualified Person will work with you to define the Statement of Work (SOW) prior to any on-site auditing. Upon agreement of the SOW the audit will be conducted. Our recommendation is that any auditing include the state of the walkway just after cleaning and just before cleaning to measure the range of performance.
The final report includes quantifiable data on floor performance, records the processes used, evaluates the walkway management program, and provides recommendations for any negatives found.
The cost of a comprehensive Audit varies depending on the SOW (number of data points to capture, how many times the facility is to be audited, and travel expense). A simple comprehensive Audit can take 1/2 to 1 1/2 days to complete depending on the SOW.
Multi-Facility Walkway Audit Program
A Multi-Facility Audit uses a standards-based approach to provide you with a 3rd party evaluation of the state of your walkways. A Qualified Person will work with you to define the Statement of Work (SOW) prior to any on-site auditing. Upon agreement of the SOW ongoing audits will be conducted. After an in-depth Audit the follow-on site visits focus on changes in Walkway performance.
The initial report includes quantifiable data on floor performance, records the processes used, evaluates the walkway management program, and provides recommendations for any negatives found. Follow-on reports will be based on the initial report and provide feedback on how the Walkway Management program is performing. The objective is to provide proactive input on Walkway Management issues before they become costly events like slips, trips, and falls of employees and guests.
The cost of a Multi-Facility Walkway Audit varies depending on the SOW (number of data points to capture, how many times the facility is to be audited, and travel expense). After the first in-depth Audit the the follow-on site visits may take 2-3 hours depending on the SOW.
